What it is, how it works, and when to use it

A Location QR Code opens a map app (Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc.) with a pin placed at the exact coordinates you enter. When someone scans it, their phone immediately shows the location and gives them directions.

This makes it perfect for stores, offices, event venues, pick-up points, delivery locations, property tours, pop-ups, or anywhere you want people to arrive without confusion.

How to create a Location QR Code

The Location QR generator on SQR shows two fields:

1. Latitude

2. Longitude

These two values together define the exact point on the map.

Examples:
Latitude: 40.748817
Longitude: -73.985428
(This example is the Empire State Building.)

Both fields must be filled in for the QR to work.

How to find your Latitude & Longitude (Google Maps)

On desktop

  1. Open Google Maps
  2. Right-click on the exact spot
  3. Click “What’s here?”
  4. At the bottom, you’ll see a card with the coordinates
  5. Copy the latitude (first number) and the longitude (second number)

On mobile

  1. Open Google Maps
  2. Press and hold on the exact location
  3. A red pin appears
  4. Swipe up on the info card
  5. You’ll see the coordinates — tap to copy them

Paste both into the SQR generator.
